War Against Drugs Continues: Kulgam Police Arrests One Peddler, Contraband Seized
Kulgam, October 20:
In its continued drive to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Kulgam Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered a significant quantity of contraband substances from his possession.
A police party from Police Station Qaimoh had established a checkpoint at Khudwani Bypass when one person, upon noticing the police, attempted to flee the spot. However, he was tactfully apprehended after a brief chase. Upon searching him, police recovered 09 grams of Charas and 01 kilogram of grinded Cannabis-like contraband substances from his possession. The accused was arrested on the spot.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 82/2025 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Qaimoh, and further investigation is underway.
Kulgam Police reaffirmed its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse and trafficking and urged the general public to share any information related to drug peddling or other anti-social activities in their areas.
“Together, we can build a drug-free society,” the police stated.
