April 21: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Baramulla have arrested 03 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A Police party of PS Boniyar at a checkpoint established at Chellan Boniyar, arrested a drug peddler identified as Shakeel Ahmad son of Mohd Hanief Kandal resident of Mawer Nowgam Kupwara. During search, 127 grams of Brown Sugar was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Similarly, a Police party of PP Mirgund during patrolling at Mirchimar Mirgund arrested 02 drug peddlers identified as Gh Mohammad Dar son of Ab Rehman Dar resident of Mirgund & Manzoor Ahmad Dar son of Assadullah Dar resident of Chenbal Mirgund. During search, 252 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus were recovered from their possession. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
