Shopian, Aug 21, A 27-year-old woman from Takibal Reban area of Zainapora in south Kashmir’s Shopian district died under mysterious circumstances on Thursday, prompting police to initiate proceedings into the case.
A senior police officer said that Police Station Zainapora received information that a woman, identified as Urfi Jan, wife of Showkat Ahmad Lone, was brought to Yaripora hospital in an unconscious condition. Doctors at the hospital declared her brought dead.
Given the suspicious nature of her death, police have initiated proceedings under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). The case is under investigation and further details are awaited.
