Underage drivers being tracked, counseled in presence of their parents to minimise accidents: IGP Traffic

Srinagar, Sep 21 : Inspector General of Traffic Police Kashmir Vikramjit Singh on Wednesday said that underage driving is being tracked by the traffic police aimed at reducing the number of road accidents involving young riders.

The IGP while speaking to reporters here at Srinagar, he said that exercise is aimed at reducing the number of road accidents involving young riders started with the surveillance on all routes.

He also said that the underage drivers who are being found without license, violation of traffic rules, triple riding and other violations are being taken into police stations following which their counselling is being done in presence of their parents.

Awareness drives are regularly conducted in schools to familiarise the students with traffic laws and to prevent from accident, he said.
