MBBS Student of GMC Srinagar Dies After Hit by Vehicle in Qazigund

Srinagar 21 Sep : A 32-year-old MBBS student of the Govt. Medical College, Srinagar died on Thursday after his motorcycle was hit by a vehicle at Navayuga tunnel near Ujroo village in Qazigund.

A resident of Navayuga tunnel Farooq Ahmad told the news agency CNS that the MBBS student was coming from Jammu towards Srinagar on his motorcycle when it was hit by an automobile vehicle, bearing number JK19A 1587, at Navayuga tunnel, resulting in his on spot death.

He said that the victim, identified as Deepak Sharma (32) son of Satipal Sharma, a resident of Muthi Jammu, was a third year student of MBBS at Govt Medical College, Srinagar.

“After the incident, the driver fled from the spot and the vehicle abandoned there was seized by the police,” he added.

Meanwhile, Qazigund police have registered a case under FIR No. 204/2023 and started investigation into the incident.
