Srinagar, Mar 22, : Anganwari workers Saturday staged a protest demanding hike in honorarium. Scores of workers assembled at Sher-i-Kashmir Park Srinagar and raised slogans in favor of their demands.
The protesting workers said that their repeated pleas have gone to deaf ears. They said no lawmaker raises their issue in the legislative assembly.
“We have been suffering. We have been receiving a meager amount while we serve whole-heartedly,” a protester told CNS.
The protesters said that they would hit to roads on daily basis along with their families, if their demands were not met. They appealed to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Health Minister Sakina Itoo to look into their demands and fulfill them without any delay.
