Ushkara Human Trafficking Racket: Police Rescue Three More Minor Girls

*Total arrests in case climb to four*

Srinagar 12 Jul : In Ushkara human trafficking racket, Baramulla police on Monday said that they have rescued three more minor girls and arrested two other accused persons.

As per the news agency, Baramulla Police in a post on X said, “Human Trafficking Racket case of Ushkara Baramulla; 2 more accused arrested; 3 more minor females rescued. So far, 4 accused arrested, and 7 minor females have been rescued.

After the rescuing of three more minor girls by police, a total number of victims saved in the case reached seven as four were already freed from the clutches of earlier arrested two accused persons Shakeel Ahmad Bhat and Mehraj-u-Din Tantray.

A case FIR No. 173/2024 under relevant sections of law was already registered in Police Station Baramulla when the human trafficking racket was busted this month.

“This operation demonstrates the commitment of the Baramulla Police to combating human trafficking and ensuring the safety and dignity of vulnerable individuals,” police said.
