*Handwara Police Organises Debate Competition to Commemorate 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel*

In a significant initiative to honour the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th birth anniversary, District Police Handwara today organised a debate competition at Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Handwara. The theme of the event centred around the leadership and ideology of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, famously known as the Iron Man of India.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students and a sizable audience comprising teachers, civil society members, and officials from the police department. Participants passionately expressed their views, shedding light on the towering personality of Sardar Patel, his steadfast leadership during the Indian freedom struggle, and his unmatched contribution in the post-independence integration of princely states into the Indian Union.
Speakers highlighted Patel’s values of unity, discipline, national integration, and emphasised the leadership values inspired by Patel. The competition not only provided a platform for students to enhance their public speaking and critical thinking skills but also inspired the audience to reflect on the ideals of national service and integrity.
The initiative by District Police Handwara aimed to educate the youth about the life and legacy of one of India’s foremost nation-builders and to encourage them to embody the spirit of unity and selfless leadership.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and mementoes to the participants and winners. Senior officers of District Police Handwara appreciated the students for their insightful speeches and thanked the school authorities for their cooperation in making the event a success.
