Police Nabs Assailant in Ganderbal Student Attack Case
Ganderbal, Sep 22 : The Jammu and Kashmir police have apprehended the perpetrator involved in the attack on a student at Qamariya Park in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that the incident, which took place yesterday, left Mohd Irfan, a student and resident of Saloora Ganderbal, injured after being assaulted with a sharp object.
The swift response from law enforcement led by SHO Ganderbal Insp. Manzoor Ahmad resulted in the identification of the assailant as Abrar Ahmad Parray, a resident of Rangil Nagbal. Parray attacked the victim and fled the scene, prompting a rigorous investigation into the matter.
Under the directive of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar-IPS, a dedicated police team, led by DySP Hqrs Ganderbal, was assembled to probe the case. With relentless efforts, the team successfully apprehended the accused person, Abrar Ahmad Parray, at Nagbal Chowk near Petrol Pump.
The officer said during further investigation, it was revealed that the altercation between the two individuals stemmed from a love affair involving the same girl, whose identity is being withheld.
The heated argument escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the injury to the victim.
