Dec 23 Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Awantipora Police arrested one drug peddler in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Awantipora
headed by SHO PS Awantipora Inspector Khalid Fayaz during naka checking at Awantipora intercepted a vehicle Innova bearing registration number JK13B-9082. During search, 3.945 Kgms of grinded Poppy Straw was recovered from his possession.
The drug peddler has been identified as:
1) Shabir Ahmad Khan S/O Noor Mohammad KhanR/O Lethpora.
The accused has been arrested and shifted to the police station for custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.182/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
