Dental College Turns Security Headquarters, Naive Patients From Far Off Places Face Harassment

Srinagar, Feb 24 : Patients visiting Sheeren Bagh Dental College in Srinagar have reported significant challenges during their treatment experiences. Many describe being shuffled from one room to another, likening the process to being treated like “cattle.” Additionally, there have been numerous complaints about misbehavior by security guards, leading some to comment that the facility feels more like a “security headquarters” than a hospital.
These grievances are not isolated. In recent years, the institution has faced multiple issues concerning both patient care and internal management. In October 2021, the Dental Council of India (DCI) criticized the college for “gross deficiencies” in clinical materials and infrastructure. The DCI’s inspection revealed a lack of essential equipment, non-functional labs, and an overall shortage of necessary clinical materials, which severely impacted patient care and the educational environment.
“You need influence of you want to get treated. The only thing I abhored here is the presence of security guards who are so arrogant and disrespectful towards our mothers and sisters,” said an attendant.
Another patient from Kupwara said that they are forcing you to move from one room to another. When contacted Principal of the College said he is the Principal and can’t waste things on immaterial issues
