*February 24:* Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Kulgam Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Police party from Police Station Qazigund at a checkpoint established at Upper Bazar Qazigund arrested one drug peddler identified as *Mudasir Ahmad Itoo son in law of Manzoor Ahmad Itoo resident of Kurigam*. During search *2 Kgs of Poppy Straw and 06 grams of Brown Sugar* like substances were recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No 26/2015 U/S 8/15, 21 NDPS act registered at police station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated.
We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
