Job Fair organised at Anantnag; DDC calls for effective implementation of Self Employment Schemes Advises youth to avail benefits of Mission YUVA

ANANTNAG, MARCH 24: To provide a dynamic platform for job seekers and employers to connect and explore employment opportunities, the District Employment and Counselling Centre in collaboration with District Administration, Anantnag today organized a mega Job Fair at Govt. ITI Ashajipora.
The event was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner (DDC), Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat and witnessed participation by ADC, Principal ITI, DD Employment, Employment Officer besides officials from concerned departments and a large number of aspiring youth and prospective entrepreneurs.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC highlighted the importance of such initiatives in addressing unemployment and making the youth self reliant. He emphasized the need to explore self-employment opportunities by aspiring youth and job seekers.
Dr. Bilal called for effective implementation of self employment and livelihood generation schemes and asked the concerned departments to ensure the job seekers are facilitated fully through awareness and IEC initiatives. He advised the youth to come forward and avail benefits of the flagship Mission YUVA programe adding the district has made appreciable progress on this initiative so far.
Asking the youth to aptly utilise the opportunity of Job Fairs, the DDC said such platforms are vital for on spot placement of eligible youth in suitable firms and agencies. The youth should acquire new skills and improve their employbility by various companies, he further remarked.
Reteirating administration’s support and commitment to facilitate the job seekers through multiple schemes, the DDC said that concerned departments and financial institutions are working in tandem to ensure the credit lending and loan disbursement are done in a smooth and time bound manner.
During the fair, the DDC inspected various stalls set up by line departments and reputed companies, interacting with both employers and participants. He also handed over keys in the automobile sector and distributed sanction letters among beneficiaries of Mission YUVA, encouraging entrepreneurship in the district.
Notably, the Job Fair witnessed participation of around 800 candidates, with approximately 350 vacancies offered by participating employers. 18 candidates secured on-spot placements, and offer letters were handed over to them by the DDC
The event reflects the district administration’s commitment to enhancing employment opportunities and promoting sustainable livelihood avenues for the youth.
