June 24: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested 3 drug peddlers including 2 lady drug peddlers in Sopore and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A Police Party led by SHO Police Station Tarzoo at a checkpoint established at Sangrama Chowk intercepted three suspicious persons (2 ladies & 1 male) who tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully. During search, Heroine like substance concealed in a nylon bag was recovered from their possession. The male drug peddler has been identified as Abdul Latief Gojar son of Noor Muhammad Gojar resident of Gandoo, Doda. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been initiated.

People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
