Police seizes 6 vehicles, arrests 5 persons in Baramulla
October 24: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 6 vehicles and arrested 5 persons in Baramulla.
A police party led by SHO PS Tangmarg and SHO PS Kunzer under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla and SDPO Tangmarg seized 6 tippers and arrested 5 persons (drivers), involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Reram Kunzer & Chakloo. The accused drivers have been identified as Showket Ahmad Kuthoo son of Gh Ahmad resident of Pariswani, Waseem Ahmad Khan son of Ab Hameed Khan resident of Treran Tangmarg, Firdous Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Majeed Dar, Mohd Saleem Dar son of Gh Nabi Dar & Amir Ahmad Gojree son of Mushtaq Ahmed Gojree, all residents of Jalsheeri.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and further investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
