In a continued drive against drug trafficking, District Police Anantnag apprehended two persons during a naka checking.
Police party from Police Post Khanabal, while conducting routine naka checking at HarnagβBategoo Bypass, intercepted two suspected individuals identified as Bhupinder Singh S/o Chanan Singh R/o Gurdaspur, Punjab and Balbir Chand S/o Kishan Chand R/o Dinanagar, Gurdaspur, Punjab. During their search, heroin-like contraband substance weighing approximately 65 grams was recovered from their possession.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 265/2025 under Sections 8/21 & 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Anantnag, and investigation has been taken up.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain forward and backward linkages.
