GMC Anantnag implants first LBBA Pacemaker with blue sync technology in J and K.
Day before yesterday, GMC Anantnag implanted the first LBBA pacemaker with blue sync technology in J &K.The patient was a young male, brought in cardiac arrest with his ecg showing complete heart block and a heart rate incompatible with life. He was resuscitated on way to cathlab, where a temporary pacemaker was implanted, which saved his life. The next day, he received a left bundle area permanent pacemaker with bluesync technology. Although few patients have previously received this BlueSync technology pacemaker across all medical institutions but by conventional methodology. GMC Anantnag became the first institute in the whole of J and K to implant this type of pacemaker in the left bundle branch area, said Dr Maqboool HOD cardiology of the institution He said the
BlueSync technology can be highly beneficial to patients.It allows the pacemaker to wirelessly send data to a smartphone or tablet app via Bluetooth. This data can include heart rhythm readings, pacemaker settings, and other relevant information. Remote monitoring feature in it reduces the need for frequent hospital visits, allowing patients to monitor their heart health from the comfort of their homes. Clinicians can also remotely access the patient’s device information and make adjustments as needed. It is pertinent to mention here that GMC Anantnag has established itself among very few centers in the country as a dedicated LBBA pacing center.
LBBA pacing compared to conventional pacemaker implantation prevents the occurrence of Pacemaker induced cardiomyopathy, which leads to heart failure in 20% of patients after receiving a conventional pacemaker.
