If Militancy Continues, War Ahead Certain: Dr Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar 25 Oct (CNS): In reference to the spree of attacks, JKNC President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Friday said that the perpetrators of militancy want to create situations akin to the present-day of West Asia and Ukraine in Kashmir.

As per the news agency CNS, the JKNC President said that “the militancy and its supporters are precipitating their destruction, ours and of all Muslims.”

He said that the militancy will be fought with full force without any fear and recalled the peak of militancy, during his period, which he stated was tried to be dealt with severely despite some of his colleagues getting martyred during that time.

“But it (militancy) did not stop. It continued on and on. The perpetrators of the militancy think that they will succeed in getting Kashmir with Pakistan, but they have a misconception. Kashmir had decided in 1947 that it would not be part of Pakistan,” Dr Farooq Abdullah said.

“They should put an end to this (militancy). If it continues then one day will come when such a war will unfold which will decimate all things. If that’s their motive then they should be prepared for it. They need to see what kind of destruction is taking place in Ukraine, Syria, Iran, Palestine and Lebanon. They want the same to occur here,” NC President said.

Replying to a reporter’s query about LG-convened recent meetings not soliciting CM Omar Abdullah’s presence, Dr Farooq Abdullah said that the Lieutenant Governor is a commander and everything is under his control. “Omar Abdullah was not here when the meeting was convened. It is wrong to say that he (Omar Abdullah) was not invited,” he added. (CNS)
