Anti-terror Operation in Jammu Forests, Mobile Network Set Up to Aid Troops in Remote Belt

Srinagar, May 27, Security forces have launched a large-scale joint operation across Jammu to flush out Terrorist suspected to be hiding in forest belts, particularly along the International Border and Line of Control.
The operation involves the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the CRPF, with two Army brigades deployed in Kathua district and the Pir Panjal range.
To aid the effort, a mobile network has been installed in the remote Billawar region of Kathua to improve coordination and communication. Officials say this will enhance both surveillance and the safety of residents in the difficult terrain.
Parallel combing operations as per sources are underway in other sensitive areas including Pahalgam, Kokernag, Kulgam, Anantnag, Shopian, Tral, Uri, Gurez, Sonmarg, and Kupwara.
Intelligence inputs suggest around 80 to 100 Terrorists trained in Pakistan, may be hiding in these forests. They are reportedly using natural caves and makeshift huts of Gujjar and Bakarwal communities, known locally as dhoks, for shelter while frequently changing locations to avoid detection.
As the operation continues, forces are sealing possible infiltration points along the LoC and IB, determined to neutralize any militant presence.
