JKPSC announces application process for J&K Combined Competitive Exam 2024

Srinagar, Jul 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has officially released the notification for the J&K Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2024.

This recruitment drive invites applications from candidates domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, adhering to the guidelines established by the General Administration Department and the J&K Public Service Commission (Conduct of Examination) Rules, 2022.

The application forms will be available on the JKPSC website starting August 1, 2024. Candidates are advised to thoroughly read the instructions and verify their eligibility before filling out the online application form. The deadline for submission, along with the requisite fee, is August 21, 2024.

According to the news agency Kashmir News Trust, the preliminary examination is tentatively scheduled for November 10, 2024, with the main examination set to begin in the second week of March 2024. The recruitment aims to fill various posts, including Junior Scale of J&K Administrative Service, J&K Accounts (G) Service, and J&K Police (G) Service, with a total of 90 vacancies. The pay scale for these positions is Level 8 (Rs 47,600 – Rs 1,51,100).

Candidates must be domiciles of J&K and hold a Bachelorโ€™s Degree from a recognized university. Specific provisions are in place for candidates who have appeared for their final examinations and those in the final stages of professional medical degrees.

The age limits are as follows: Open Merit (OM) – maximum 32 years; Reserved Category – maximum 34 years; In-service Candidates: maximum 34 years and Physically Handicapped Candidates: maximum 35 years.

Candidates will have the option to edit certain fields in their application forms from August 22 to August 24, 2024. No hard copies or additional documents need to be submitted to the Commission, and applicants are encouraged to apply early to avoid technical issues.

The selection process includes a preliminary examination, a main examination, and a personality test. Candidates who pass the preliminary exam will proceed to the main exam, and those who succeed in the main exam will be called for an interview. Final selection will be based on performance across all three stages.

It is important to mention here that the application fee is Rs 1,200 for general candidates and Rs 700 for reserved candidates.
