Awantipora, Sept. 26 – The Department of Chemistry, IUST, in collaboration with the Dean Outreach, hosted a comprehensive scientific training programme, with a focus on imparting knowledge and hands-on experience with sophisticated instruments and techniques like high-performance liquid chromatography, fluorescence spectroscopy, and computational chemistry.
The programme presided over by Prof. Lily Want, Dean Outreach was attended by the students from IUST and Govt. Degree College, Beerwah. Prof. Want highlighted the importance of institutions engaging with the community on relevant societal issues. She encouraged students to actively interact with department faculties for a brighter future. Ms. Shazana Andrabi (Coordinator Community Outreach IUST) stressed the significance of effective communication and expressing one’s ideas.
Dr. Aabid H. Shalla enlightened the students about the department’s activities and the vital role of chemical sciences in addressing current societal challenges. The training, conducted by Dr. Manzoor A. Dar, Dr. Nisar A. Malik, and Dr. Manzoor A. Rather, provided both theoretical and practical insights. The participants received hands-on training, gaining proficiency from sample preparation to result analysis.
