
Polling is underway for the Meghalaya and Nagaland Assemblies, amid tight security arrangements.
In Meghalaya, over 21 lakh (21,75,236) eligible and registered voters, including 10.99 lakh women and 10.68 lakh men, will decide the fates of 369 candidates across parties.
There are also about 81,000 first-time voters in the state this year.
Polling will be held at 3,419 polling stations across 59 Assembly constituencies in the state.
In Nagaland, a total of 183 candidates are in fray, including 20 from BJP, 1 from CPI, 23 from the Congress, 12 from the NCP, 12 from the NPP, 40 from the ruling NDPP, 22 from NPF, 1 from RPP, 7 from JD(U), 15 from LJP (Ram Vilas), 9 from RPI (Athawale) (9), 3 from RJD (3), and 19 Independents.
The total number of registered voters in Nagaland stand at 13,17,632, of which 661489 are men and 656143 are women.
The total number of polling stations is 2351.
