May 27: Continuing its efforts to discourage cultivation of poppy and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police along with civil authorities destroyed poppy cultivation in Beerwah area of Budgam.
A police party of PS Beerwah along with officials of Revenue Department destroyed illegal poppy cultivation spread over 05 kanals of land at village Arabal Peth Zanigam area falling under the jurisdiction of PS Beerwah in district Budgam.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 61/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Beerwah and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt strictly under law.
