Pulwama Police Apprehended Drug Peddler, Seized Narcotic Substance During Naka Checking

May 27““:In a significant action aimed at combating the menace of drug trafficking, Pulwama Police apprehended a drug peddler and recovered contraband narcotics during a naka checking operation in the Argecheck (Aglar Kandi) area of Pulwama district.

Acting on its proactive policing strategy, a naka team from Police Station Rajpora was deployed near the Argecheck bridge to conduct checking. During the operation, the team observed an individual moving suspiciously. Demonstrating alertness and professionalism, the naka party tactfully intercepted the person. A personal search led to the recovery of 60 grams charas, from his possession.

The individual has been identified as Javid Ahmad Mir, son of Mohd Akbar Mir, a resident of Pakherpora. He was immediately taken into custody.

Accordingly, a case has been registered under FIR No. 49/2025 at Police Station Rajpora under relevant sections of the NDPS Act (8/20), and further investigation is underway to trace the broader network involved.

Pulwama Police remains committed to eradicating drug abuse and appeals to the public to support law enforcement by reporting any drug-related activities.
