
With 9,520 new COVID-19 cases being reported in a day, India’s tally of infections has gone up to 4,43,98,696, while the count of active cases has declined to 87,311, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday.
The death toll due to the disease has climbed to 5,27,597, with 41 new fatalities being reported, including four deaths reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am showed.With
India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 87,311. Active cases now constitute 0.20% of the country’s total Positive Cases.
Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.62%. 12,875 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,37,83,788.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 3,81,205 COVID-19 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 88.47 Cr (88,47,20,250) cumulative tests.
Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 2.80% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 2.50%.
India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 211.39 Cr (2,11,39,81,444) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 2,81,63,153 sessions.
COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 4.02 Cr (4,02,11,871) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.
