Srinagar: World Tourism Day is commemorated each year on 27 September to foster awareness on the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value.
Celebrating World Tourism Day today Nigeen Tourist Traders (NTTA) held a day long activities towards making tourism eco friendly for a better environment. In this regard, chairman NTTA Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo said that “ NTTA believes in pragmatic approach and has been trying to display the same character by its positive and practical approach”.
Wangnoo added that “On World Tourism Day in collaboration with Dept. of Tourism, day long activities were held right from the start of the day”. “In the second half of the day a special event was held at water Sports Center Nigeen where an eco friendly bag by NTTA was launched in order to inculcate eco friendly habits among the stakeholders and to make our waterbodies polythene free”.
Chairman NTTA expressed his gratitude to Incharge Nigeen Club Ms. Shaista for participating in the event and thank Dept. of Tourism for the collaboration. Wangnoo also thanked LC&MA for maintaining the aesthetics of Nigeen Lake, SMC for keeping he peripheries clean and divisional administration for overall development.
