Police facilitates Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meetings in Kulgam & Budgam

September 27: In order to bridge the gap between police & public, Police facilitated PCPG meetings in Kulgam & Budgam.

In Kulgam, the meetings were held in Police Station Qazigund, Police Station Devsar, Police Station Behibagh and Police Post Frisal. While as in Budgam, the meeting was held at Panchayat Ghar Ringzibal Khansahib.

The meetings were chaired by respective jurisdictional officers and were attended by respectable citizens including Market associations, Auqaf Bodies, Chowkidars, Numberdars, Sarpanchs, Panchs, youth and other representatives of the respective areas and their adjacent villages.

Various participants while speaking on this occasion, appreciated the process of organising such events in the Kulgam by Police department in which an opportunity is being provided to highlight the prevailing issues of the society like drug abuse, domestic violence, electricity deficiency and water scarcity and seeks their redressal for the betterment of all. The officers present at the meet gave a patient hearing to their issues and assured them that the issues pertaining to other departments will be taken up immediately with the concerned officers for appropriate action besides, issues related to Police would be resolved on priority.

While addressing the participants, chairing officers urged upon in strengthening the Police public relations and also cooperate in eradicating all types of crime from the society so that a peaceful and crime free atmosphere is created in the area. The officers have also requested to provide the information to police about smuggling of drugs and other illegal activities if any noticed for initiating appropriate action against the offenders.
