Vehicle laden with illicit timber seized in Budgam, accused fled

Budgam, Dec 27: Jammu and Kashmir forest department in an overnight raid has seized an illicit timber in Omchipora Khag area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, while the driver of vehicle has fled from the scene, officials said.

An official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that one vehicle (automobile) without registration plate was seized in an overnight raid around 2; 00 am by a team of forest department headed by Ranger Beerwah range Iftikar Ahmad.

He said that the driver of the vehicle fled from the spot taking advantage of the darkness. The searches to nab the accused involved in this crime has been launched.

A case under relevant sections of forest act is being registered in this regard and further investigation has been set into motion, he added. (KDC)
