Srinagar, 28 July: The Awami National Conference (ANC) President Begum Khalida Shah and senior Vice President Muzzfar Shah extended a message on the eve of Youm-e-Ashura, highlighting its significance in the history of Islam.
In a statement issued here, the leaders emphasized that Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his seventy-two companions set an enduring example of perseverance, sacrifice, and faithfulness for all of humanity.
The leaders praised the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Aali Muqam (AS) and his righteous companions, noting that their gallant resistance against injustice, oppression, and evil continues to inspire generations. They asserted that Hazrat Imam Hussain’s struggle and principles are not limited to any specific group but are a shared asset for all humankind.
ANC President Begum Khalida Shah and senior Vice President Muzzfar Shah reiterated that those who sacrifice their lives for their principles become immortal, while oppressors, despite any apparent victories, are condemned for all times to come. They expressed hope that the observance of Youm-e-Ashura would pave the way for peace, prosperity, and amity in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, and the entire country.
During the days of Muharram, the leaders pointed out that Imam Aali Makam (AS) and his household demonstrated patience and submission to Almighty Allah. Imam Hussain (AS) elevated humanity’s stature and exemplified the power of truth and piousness through his noble struggle.
