Operation resumes to retrieve body of youth drowned in river Jhelum in Sumbal
Srinagar, July 28 :- Search operation to retrieve the body of an 18 year old youth who drowned in the river Jhelum near old bridge Sumbal in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district has resumed on Sunday.
An official told the news agency Kashmir Scroll that a youth drowned in the river Jhelum in Sumbal.
He has been identified as Huzaif Ahmed Shah son of Hilal Ahmed Shah resident of Naniara Sumbal.
He said that soon after the drowning incident, locals, police and SDRF started rescue operation on Saturday, however, they failed to retrieve the body.
He said that later Saturday evening the operation was called off and it resumed on Sunday morning and efforts are on to retrieve the body.
Meanwhile police have already taken cognizance and started investigation.(KS)
