DHSK conducts training program for officers, officials on GeM portal

Srinagar: The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir today conducted a training program for officers and officials on Government e-Marketplace portal GeM.

Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Chief Accounts Officer DHSK Arshid Ahmad Lone, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors, GeM expert L. B Gautam besides officers and officials of the department were present on the occasion.

The Director presided over the function and congratulated and thanked GeM expert L. B Gautam for presentation and enumerated the various facets of importance of GeM training.

Dr MA Rather said Government e-Marketplace (GeM) is a dynamic and sustained initiative of the Government to transform the way in which procurement of goods and services is done.

GeM expert L. B Gautam gave a detailed presentation on GeM Govt. market place and highlighted the key features of the portal for efficient and transparent purchasing and procurement. He stressed that all officers should get themselves well familiarised with the GeM handbook, training modules and general terms and conditions.

Gautam informed that it is mandatory for all those dealing with purchase/ procurement to keep themselves abreast with latest circulars and rules framed time to time by competent authorities available on their websites.

He said GeM e-market was launched by the Prime Minister of India in 2016 in integration between govt. and procurement system with aim to bring transparency and accountability in procurement management.

Pertinently, DHSK in collaboration with the Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA) India is already imparting training on Management Development Program (MDP) to medical officers of Kashmir division at Regional Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Dhobivan.
