Anantnag, Dec 28 : A woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her residence in Marhama Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.
Officials told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the deceased has been identified as Sheeraza Bano, wife of Abdul Hameed Kumar, a resident of Baliyara, Marhama. She was around 37 years old and a homemaker by profession.
Following the incident, police from Sangam station reached the spot and took custody of the body for medico-legal formalities. The body was later shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death, they said.
Meanwhile, police have initiated proceedings in the matter and further investigation is underway.
