Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs, Police in Awantipora achieved a major success by arresting one drug peddler and recovering contraband substances from his possession.
During a joint naka checking at Chersoo, a police party headed by IC Police Post Toll Plaza, SI Ishfaq Ahmad, apprehended one person who was found roaming under suspicious circumstances.
The apprehended person has been identified as Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shaksaz S/o Gh. Nabi Shaksaz R/O Malpora Ghat Tokuna Chersoo .
During his personal search 04 sticks of Charas like substance weighing 48 grams , Charas Powder like substance weighing 40 grams and Bung Chura like substance weighing 315 grams was recovered.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 28/2026 under sections 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Awantipora.
