Anantnag, March 30: Acting on reliable information regarding gambling activities in the Ganeshpora area, Police Station Aishmuqam conducted a prompt and well-coordinated raid at the specified location.
During the operation, three individuals were apprehended on the spot while indulging in gambling. The accused have been identified as
Mohd Akbar Rather S/o Mohd Shaban Rather, Javaid Ahmad Rather S/O Gh Rasool Rather and Sajad Ahmad Dass S/O Abdul Ahad Dass all residents of Waghama, Bijbehara.
During the raid, an amount of ₹12,750, identified as stake money, along with playing cards, was recovered from their possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 17/2026 under Section 13 of the Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Aishmuqam. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
