Nationalist People’s Front Strongly Denies Claims of Merger with BJP: Mohammad Iqbal Wani

Srinagar 30 August 2024: The General Secretary of the Nationalist People’s Front (NPF), Mohammad Iqbal Wani, strongly rejected claims of a merger with the BJP during an urgent press conference today. He stated that the claim is baseless and misleading, clarifying that the Nationalist People’s Front has not merged with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in any way.

Mohammad Iqbal Wani explained that the former president who made this claim was removed from his position in June due to organizational malpractice. He emphasized that office-bearers in the Nationalist People’s Front are elected through a democratic process, and no unauthorized individual has the right to make statements on behalf of the organization.

The press conference was also attended by the party’s Vice President Jasef Khan, UT Incharge Basit Bashir, and Media Incharge Mir Aijaz.
On this occasion, Mohammad Iqbal Wani stated that some associates of the former president are attempting to mislead the media and the public for their personal interests, and their statements should not be considered the official stance of the Nationalist People’s Front.

He further mentioned that the organization is in the final stages of finalizing the list of candidates for the second and third phases of elections, and an announcement will be made soon.

At the conclusion of the press conference, Mohammad Iqbal Wani urged the public not to believe misleading information and to rely only on official sources from the organization for accurate information.
