Kupwara : Sher i Kashmir University of Agriculture and Science Technology in Collaboration with KVK Kupwara today organise many awerness programmes in District Kupwara Such as Ashpora Qaziabad, Mawer Bala, Langate and Kandi area of Kupwara.
Directorate of Extension, SKUAST Kashmir Dr. Dil Mohammed Makhdoomi was chief Guest on this occasion.
Director Extension SKUAST Kashmir, Prof. Dil Mohammed Makdoomi in his address informed the farmers about various schemes of GOI / UT’s in agriculture and allied sectors which shall help farmers to reap benefits.
He also stressed on the farmers to develop niche based FPO’s for better marketing and returns for which the Directorate of Extension is ready to help them in formulating the FPO’s.
The event was attended by more than 1000 farmers including rural youth, farm women and young entrepreneurs.
In this awerness program BDC Chairman Langate and Mawer joiend also in this program.
It is an organisation of farmer-producers that provide support to small farmers with end-to-end services covering almost all aspects of cultivation from inputs, technical services to processing and marketing.
The aim of Farmer Producer Organisations is to ensure better income for the producers through an organization of their own.
Director extension was along with Deputy Director Trainings Dr Fara Naz Rasool, Dr Prushutum Singh, PC KvK Kupwara Dr Kaiser Mouhidin, Sr Scientists Dr Firdous Raina, Dr Rayees Ahmad along others.
