Digital Week celebration kicks off with the hosting of a digital Mela in District Kishtwar.

A bike rally of CSC’s VLEs, Awareness Lectures by Officers, Nukkad Natak & cultural skits by School students, and Stalls by departments sensitized the public about various online services.

The Digital Week celebration began with the hosting of a digital Mela in District Kishtwar, under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, IAS.

The onset of the week-long celebration in the district was marked by the relay of the e-launching ceremony of the Digital Week by UT Government , Witnessing the participation of Senior Officers and District officers of district Administration Kishtwar here at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex Kishtwar.

The inaugural day Digital Melas witnessed massive public participation, along with PRIs, District Officers, students, and civil society members.

The District Administration Kishtwar organized a Digital Mela at the DC Office Complex in Kishtwar as a part of the Digital Week celebrations.

ADDC Kishtwar, Sham Lal, in the presence of ADC Kishtwar Inderjeet Singh Parihar,PO ICDS Dr. Rishi Sharma, Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal,DPO Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal, ACD Manoj Kumar, Tehsildar Kishtwar Muneeb Umar,AD FCS& CA, AO DC Office Kishtwar Imran Kichloo, State Taxes Officer Maneet Sharma, and others inaugurated the event.

SSP Kishtwar Khalil Ahmed Poswal-JKPS was special attendee on the occasion.

During the event, all the concerned departments set up stalls depicting various online services offered by them. The resource persons of the departments motivated the public to avail the benefits of the same and handed over pamphlets depicting the online services of their departments.

ADDC also inspected the stalls set up by these Departments showcasing their online services, and also School, ITI and Polytechnic students visited these stalls.

In the mela, awareness skits and Nukkad Natak were presented by School students to raise awareness about the government’s digital initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, the Additional District Development Commissioner said that during the week-long celebration from 31st August to 6th September, citizens would be imparted awareness about online services being provided by different departments. He also said that the J & K Government has launched many digital services in all the major departments which will bring ease to the public and transparency in the delivery of services to the citizens.

The ADDC said that the e-services have greatly benefited the public and brought transparency in the working of public offices.

On the occasion, SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Ahmed Poswal-JKPS, delivered an insightful lecture on cybercrimes and cybersecurity, shedding light on the evolving challenges in the digital realm. He emphasized the importance of awareness and proactive measures to safeguard individuals and organizations from the escalating threats in the cyber landscape. Poswal’s expertise in the field provided valuable insights to the audience, fostering a better understanding of the need for robust cybersecurity practices.

Various senior officers and district officers also highlighted the e-governance initiatives launched by the government to promote transparency, accountability, and a responsive working culture in departments.

Sensitizing the people about the objectives of the Digital India week, they maintained that the week aimed to make the public aware of the digital initiatives to provide them with the best possible relief.

The week-long event will showcase citizen-centric IT initiatives that have helped bring about greater transparency in governance and ease of living for citizens, besides generating awareness about digital solutions and new technologies.

Earlier, ADDC Kishtwar also flagged off the Bike Rally of VLEs of Common Service Centres, the Indian Army, and Kishtwar Bikers Club from Malipeth to DC office to generate awareness regarding online services among people and disseminate the message regarding the digital transformation of J&K in public service delivery.

The rally was managed under the coordination of District Manager Shagufta Malik and Assistant Manager CSC, Kishtwar, Suman Kapoor.
