DGP sanctions welfare loan/relief of over Rs. 99 lakh in favour of 83 serving Police personnel

Jammu, December 07: Continuing with an aim to provide financial assistance to meet the urgent needs of Police personnel, the Director General of Police, J&K Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over Rupees 99 lakh welfare loan/relief in favour of 83 serving officers and personnel of J&K Police vide PHQ Order No. 4087 of 2022.

Under this order, Welfare loan of rupees 41 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 31 personnel to meet the expenses of self-treatment or for the treatment of their dependents. The amount sanctioned for the medical treatment ranges from rupees one lakh to rupees two lakh. Besides, welfare relief of rupees 1.90 lakh in favour of 12 Police personnel has also been sanctioned.

Welfare loan ranging from rupees fifty thousand to rupees 1.50 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 46 personnel for the purpose of their own marriage, or for marriage of their wards/relatives. Similarly, welfare loan of rupees 3 lakhs has been sanctioned in favour of 02 Police personnel for pursuing higher education of their wards and rupees 50 thousand has been sanctioned in favour of one Police personal for circumcision of his ward.

The welfare loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and is recovered in monthly installments from their salaries without any interest, however welfare relief sanctioned is non-refundable. The welfare loan/relief has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.

Police Headquarters under different welfare schemes is providing financial assistance to all the ranks serving/retired of Jammu and Kashmir Police and to serving SPOs. Financial support to the families & wards of Martyr Police personnel and wards of martyr SPOs is also taken care of by the Police Headquarters.
