December 27: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police have arrested 07 persons and seized 07 vehicles in Bandipora.
During the surprise night checking across the district by the police team headed by SSP Bandipora Mohmad Zahid-JKPS, 03 JCB machines and 04 Tippers were seized at Turkpora and Garoora areas of Bandipora. Besides 07 persons were also arrested.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law were registered in concerned police stations and further investigation is in progress.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
