Srinagar, Feb 16 : The Army on Thursday said it foiled an infiltration bid by killing a militant in Tanghdar sector of north Kashmirβs Kupwara district along the Line of Control.
In a statement, a defense spokesperson said alert troops deployed in an anti-infiltration grid detected move of three militants near the LoC Fence.
The statement reads on being challenged at close proximity to the post, an intense firefight ensued, resulting in successfull elimination of one militant and injury to the other.
βThe injured managed to flee back along with the third militant, taking advantage of darkness. A thorough operation was launched along with with pploice in the morning, resulting in recovery of body of the militant, one AK series rifle, one light automatic weapon, six magazines, two grenades and large quantity of war like stores,β it reads.
