Illegal extraction & transportation of minerals; Police arrests 06 persons, 06 vehicles seized
February 26: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police have arrested 06 persons and seized 06 vehicles in Baramulla.
A police party led by In-charge Police Post Kungamdara under the supervision of SDPO Pattan arrested two persons and seized two vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of mineral at Khore Sherabad Pattan. They have been identified as Aijaz Yousuf Dar and Mohammad Shahid Dar sons of Mohd Yousuf Dar, both residents of KP Payeen Singhpora.
At another instance, a police party led by SHO Police Station Chandoosa under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri arrested four person and seized four vehicles (Tippers) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of mineral at Rajpora Chandoosa. They have been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Parray, Ghulam Mohd Malik, Khalid Hussain Malla residents of Kitchama Sheeri & Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar resident of Sheeri.
All the accused persons have been shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody and cases under relevant sections of law stands registered against them at respective police stations.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
