The counting of votes for the Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland Assemblies would begin at 8 am on Thursday.
While the BJP-ruled Tripura went to polls on February 16, polling for the Meghalaya and Nagaland Assemblies were held on February 27.
All three states recorded robust polling and turnouts, with Tripura recording an overall turnout of 86 per cent.
Nagaland and Meghalaya also logged over 81 per cent turnouts respectively.
According to most exit poll projections, Meghalaya is heading for a hung House, with the ruling NPP of Conrad Sangma emerging as the single largest party.
The outgoing CM has already hinted at a post-poll alliance with the BJP in light of the exit poll projections.
As for Tripura, the pollsters have predicted a comfortable win for the BJP, though some exit poll projections pegged the ruling party’s tally at less than what they secured in the last Assembly polls.
The TIPRA Motha, an outfit born out of an alliance between regional outfits claiming to represent the state’s indigenous people, is also expected to make big gains, thereby enabling it to play kingmaker, according to pollsters.
The Motha is led by Tripura’s royal scion Pradyut Deb Barman.
Further, according to most exit poll projections, the ruling NDPP-BJP alliance is likely to secure a fresh mandate by a comfortable margin.
