Srinagar, May 06 : Tragic incidents of a cloud burst and lightning strikes took the lives of four individuals, including a couple, at separate locations in the Kashmir Valley on Saturday afternoon, officials said here.
An official said that a devastating cloudburst occurred in the Bujbagh area of Samboora Pampore and tragically, it claimed the lives of two individuals, identified as Hilal Ahmed Hanji and his wife, Rozia Jan.
In another incident, the official said that two people, identified as Taja Begum, the wife of Abdus Samad Chopan, and Mohammad Sultan Chopan, the son-in-law of Ghulam Mohammad Chopan from Gurwaith Kalan, lost their lives due to a lightning strike.
He said that the incident took place in the high-altitude meadow land of Mujpathri, situated in the Budgam district of Central Kashmir.(KNS)
