September 14: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 11vehicles and arrested 11 persons in Baramulla.
A police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg seized 4 vehicles (4 tippers) and arrested 4 drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Kulhama Tangmarg. They have been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Lone son of Gh Ahmad resident of Ferozpora, Mohd Yousuf Lone son of Ali Mohd resident of Hariwatnoo, Sajad Ahmad Rather son of Gh Ahmad resident of Ratnipora Payeen & Ab Rashid Dar son of Ab Gani resident of Fejipora Tangmarg.
Similarly, a police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan assisted by IC PP Kungamdara & IC PP Mirgund seized 5 vehicles (1 tipper, 3 tractors & 1 excavator) and arrested 5 drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Khoresherad & Jheel Singhpora Pattan. They have been identified as Mohd Ashraf Wani son of Gh Ahmad resident of Shirpora, Mohd Ashraf Lone son of Noor Mohd, Shabir of Wani son of Ab Aziz both residents of Hanjiwera Bala, Bilal Ahmad Lone son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Panzinara & Aijaz Ahmad Guroo son of Mohammad Ramzan resident of Check Razak Khan.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective Police Station and investigations have been initiated.
Persons found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
