Crime Branch Jammu Files Chargesheet Against Fraudster for Duping Job Aspirants

Srinagar 20 Sep : Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch Jammu on Wednesday filed a 104 pages chargesheet against a fraudster in the Court for duping of Rs. 5.50 lakhs from a complainant and several other gullible unemployed youth on the pretext of securing jobs for them in the Military Engineering Services (MES), Railway or Bank.

As per the news agency CNS, the Crime Branch Jammu has identified the fraudster as Sher Ali son of Shamas Din, a resident of Dangdevpur, tehsil Mahreen of district Kathua.

The chargesheet comprising 104 pages was filed against the accused in case FIR No. 55/2023 U/S 420 /RPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu in the Court of law for defrauding the complainant and other unemployed youth of Rs 5.50 Lakhs on the pretext of arranging Govt. jobs either in MES, Railway or Bank after the accused induced them that he was an influential person, said CBJ.

โ€œThe case was registered on a written complaint lodged by Manzoor Ahmed S/o Ali Mohd R/o Nan Dhryouth Tehsil Khara District Doda wherein it was alleged that he and other victims are residents of far flung area of Tehsil Khara District Doda belonging from poor families and are unemployed. The accused Sher Ali motivated them that he was an influential man and would get all of them employed in MES (Military Engineering Services), Railway or Bank. On this pretext accused collected huge amounts from the complainant and other victims and later cheated them (sic),โ€ reads the statement.

The Crime Branch Jammu further said that after the receiving of the complaint, a preliminary verification was initiated and the allegations were prima-facie established and subsequently, the instant case was registered for in-depth investigation.

โ€œRelevant record was seized, statement of witnesses recorded u/s 161. Cr.PC and 164 Cr.PC, Scientific, Circumstantial and other Material evidence was gathered and offences of cheating against the accused for luring the complainant and other unemployed youth victims on the pretext of arranging Govt. jobs have been established,โ€ the statement added.
