New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) Delhi Revenue Minister Atishi on Friday said that the Union Territory government has set up over 1000 Chhath ghats across the national capital so that devotees do not have to go far from their homes to celebrate Chhath Mahaparv.
The Delhi government is arranging everything on these ghats, from constructing ponds to providing tents, lights, cleanliness, security, and more. Additionally, cultural programs will be organised by the Maithili-Bhojpuri Academy at many ghats, the Office of the Revenue Minister said in a communique.
During the inspection, Atishi directed officials to expedite Chhath ghat preparations and complete them soon to avoid last-minute tasks and any inconvenience to the devotees during the festivities.
“Delhi government’s Chhath Mahaparv preparations are in full swing, we will ensure there are no shortcomings in preparations of Ghats,” said Atishi.
She said Delhi is home to a large number of people from the โPurvanchalโ region who contribute socially, economically, and culturally to the development of Delhi. Chhath is a very important festival for all of them. UNI CM SSP
