Dry Weather To Continue As Night Temp Rises Slightly In J&K

Srinagar, June 4 : Amid dry weather forecast, night temperature recorded a slight increase in Jammu and Kashmir except in Kupwara on Saturday.

A meteorological department official here told GNS that Srinagar recorded a low of 12.5ยฐC against 12.2ยฐC on the previous night, he said. The temperature, he said, was above normal by 0.3ยฐC during this time of the year for the summer capital.

Qazigund recorded a low of 10.4ยฐC against 9.4ยฐC on the previous night. The temperature was 0.7ยฐC below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said.

Pahalgam, which had 2.0 mm of rainfall in 24 hours till 0830 hours today, recorded a minimum of 5.8ยฐC against 5.4ยฐC on the previous night. The temperature was 0.8ยฐC below normal for the famous resort in south Kashmir during this time of the season, he said.

Kokernag recorded a low of 10.6ยฐC against 10.3ยฐC on the previous night. It was 0.5ยฐC below normal during this time of the season for the place in south Kashmir, the official said.

Gulmarg received 0.6 mm of rainfall during the time and recorded a low of 5.5ยฐC against 4.8ยฐC on the previous night, the official said. While 7.6ยฐC is normal for the world famous skiing resort during this time of the season, the official said that the temperature was 2.1ยฐC below normal for the place in north Kashmirโ€™s Baramulla district.

Kupwara town in north Kashmir recorded a low of 9.1ยฐC against 9.6ยฐC on the previous night. The temperature was 1.9ยฐC below normal for the district, the official told Global News Service.

Jammu recorded a low of 27.9ยฐC against 26.5 ยฐC on the previous night, the official said. The temperature was 2.4ยฐC above normal for J&Kโ€™s winter capital, he said. Banihal recorded a low of 14.0ยฐC, Batote recorded a low of 16.5ยฐC while Bhadarwah had a minimum of 12.7ยฐC, the official said. The MeT department has forecast mainly dry weather in the next few days in J&K. (GNS)
