
Srinagar, June 4 : Amid dry weather forecast, night temperature recorded a slight increase in Jammu and Kashmir except in Kupwara on Saturday.
A meteorological department official here told GNS that Srinagar recorded a low of 12.5Β°C against 12.2Β°C on the previous night, he said. The temperature, he said, was above normal by 0.3Β°C during this time of the year for the summer capital.
Qazigund recorded a low of 10.4Β°C against 9.4Β°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.7Β°C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said.
Pahalgam, which had 2.0 mm of rainfall in 24 hours till 0830 hours today, recorded a minimum of 5.8Β°C against 5.4Β°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.8Β°C below normal for the famous resort in south Kashmir during this time of the season, he said.
Kokernag recorded a low of 10.6Β°C against 10.3Β°C on the previous night. It was 0.5Β°C below normal during this time of the season for the place in south Kashmir, the official said.
Gulmarg received 0.6 mm of rainfall during the time and recorded a low of 5.5Β°C against 4.8Β°C on the previous night, the official said. While 7.6Β°C is normal for the world famous skiing resort during this time of the season, the official said that the temperature was 2.1Β°C below normal for the place in north Kashmirβs Baramulla district.
Kupwara town in north Kashmir recorded a low of 9.1Β°C against 9.6Β°C on the previous night. The temperature was 1.9Β°C below normal for the district, the official told Global News Service.
Jammu recorded a low of 27.9Β°C against 26.5 Β°C on the previous night, the official said. The temperature was 2.4Β°C above normal for J&Kβs winter capital, he said. Banihal recorded a low of 14.0Β°C, Batote recorded a low of 16.5Β°C while Bhadarwah had a minimum of 12.7Β°C, the official said. The MeT department has forecast mainly dry weather in the next few days in J&K. (GNS)
