
Srinagar, June 6 : Night temperature recorded an increase at most places in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday even as βmainly dry weatherβ has been forecast for the next 24 hours.
A meteorological department official here told GNS that Srinagar recorded a low of 14.1Β°C against 13.8Β°C on the previous night, he said. The temperature, he said, was above normal by 0.7Β°C during this time of the year for the summer capital.
Qazigund recorded a low of 11.0Β°C against 11.4Β°C on the previous night. The temperature was 1.0Β°C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said.
Pahalgam recorded a minimum of 7.0Β°C against 6.3Β°C on the previous night. The temperature was normal for the famous resort in south Kashmir during this time of the season, he said.
Kokernag recorded a low of 12.8Β°C against 12.2Β°C on the previous night. It was 0.6Β°C above normal for the place in south Kashmir during this time of the season, the official said.
Gulmarg recorded a low of 9.0Β°C against 7.4Β°C on the previous night, the official said. While 8.7Β°C is normal for the world famous skiing resort during this time of the season, the official said that the temperature was 0.3Β°C above normal for the place in north Kashmirβs Baramulla district.
Kupwara town in north Kashmir recorded a low of 11.0Β°C against 10.1Β°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.7Β°C below normal for the district, the official told Global News Service.
Jammu recorded a low of 27.8Β°C against 26.9Β°C on the previous night, the official said. The temperature was 2.1Β°C above normal for J&Kβs winter capital, he said. Banihal recorded a low of 13.3Β°C, Batote recorded a low of 18.5Β°C while Bhadarwah had a minimum of 13.7Β°C, the official said.
