Sajad Lone sounds alarm over flood-like situation in Kashmir
Urges LG led Admin to mobilize all departments & ensure safety of the citizens

Peoples Conference President Sajad Lone today expressed grave concerns over the flood-like situation across the Kashmir Valley, urging the administration to ramp up efforts to safeguard locals living in low-lying areas and relocate them to safer places.

In a statement issued here, Mr. Lone assetted that inclement weather conditions have wreaked havoc on the local populace, with reports of inundation of villages and towns across the Kashmir division.

โ€œI have been receiving calls from various districts, including Kupwara, Bandipora, Sopore and even parts of Srinagar City, where people are facing huge water logging. There is a potent threat to life and property, for which the administration should take concrete steps to tackle this situation,โ€ he said.

Mr. Lone urged the Lt. Governor led administration to mobilize all departments urgently and effectively to handle the situation besides emphasizing the readiness of State Disaster Response Force teams.

โ€œOur party cadres are also maintaining a strong eye on this flood-like situation and trying to keep the concerned quarters aware of the plight of locals on the ground. I am hopeful we will come out of this situation by keeping coordination and vigilance over the developing situation,โ€ he added.
