Age couldn’t deter 101-year old’s spirit to vote in Bandipora hamlet

Bandipora, 20 May : 101 year-old Khateja Begum monday voted in the ongoing parliament election in Baramulla constituency, becoming an inspiration for the villagers in this remote hamlet of Bandipora district.

Wearing a traditional pheran, Khateja exercised her democratic franchise in 133-Polling Station in Shahgund Village of Hajin-Sonawari.

Casting her vote, she motivated other younger generation to come out despite hot weather to cast their votes. (Agencies)
